About

I’m a NY-based designer with a passion for thoughtful and beautifully crafted items. Details are my thing — whether large or small I love them all. From fashion to interiors, furniture to print, paper to fabrics, I love the little idiosyncrasies that make something special.

MY PROCESS

1 | TO START…

Any design that is needed, whether it be from the ground up or a revision of an existing idea, needs to started from the beginning. First, we must ask what is the problem and what is desired end result. Then we must examine everything that currently exists  (strengths, weaknesses and any must-have items) before anything, from concept to execution, can be done.

2 | FOLLOW THIS WITH…

An idea exploration. Here, we examine any direction that you might want to take. We use examples that are very similar to an inspiration board to see 1) what it is that drives you and 2) how you can see it working. This helps work out the ideas in your head, especially if they cannot be easily explained — think word clouds if you will.

3 | RESEARCH FOLLOWS…

To see like situations; to see where others went wrong; and to create a new direction that can be taken. There are still NO design ideas at this time.

4 | CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT IS KEY…

To follow after research. Here we start to strategize and decide how to make you stand out — how to make this different. What worked one place doesn’t always work in another place. And as I see it, the key to success is innovation is to never copy.

5 | EXECUTION COMES NEXT.

Design development, appropriate photography and the like goes in here and never before. To me, successful design executions are never the first iteration. We evaluate everything that has been decided prior and move forward with a compelling, strong and thoughtful approach to the problem(s) at hand and apply them to paper, to the web or to any mobile device.

6 | AND FINALLY…

We evaluate. Is this the best? Are there any holes? Can we make this better? If we can, we work out the kinks until we reach a successfully satisfying solution.

7 | THE END… until next time.
